Straight outta Colorado.
Syntax Spirits’ Bourbon Whisky is a straight Colorado craft bourbon made from local corn, wheat, barley, and pure Poudre River whitewater. We hand-craft and barrel-age every batch from grain-to-glass at our distillery. All of our bourbon is aged for a minimum of two years in full-size 53 gallon whisky barrels, which produces a richer, more flavorful spirit than rapid-aging in small barrels. Our standard bourbon is bottled at 95 proof but we often do limited releases of the amazingly smooth ~115 proof cask-strength version.
Syntax bourbon won two gold medals at the 2015 Wizards of Whisky awards in the UK. The Beverage Tasting Institute rates our bourbon 89 points (among the very best craft whiskys!) and offers this description: “Light amber color. Aromas of caramelized nuts, apricot granola, waxy honeycomb, and candy corn with a supple, fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and zesty, peppery spice, dried fruit, dusty grain, and mineral finish with lots of warmth. A brashly flavorful young bourbon that will add fruit character to whisky cocktails; try in an old fashioned.”
Our Bourbon was created to be sipped straight, as distiller Heather likes to drink her spirits... but do try it with a single ice cube to open up the flavors. There’s no need to stop there, though – enjoy it in spirit-forward cocktails like a Manhattan, Whisky Sour, or Mint Julep.
The "King Kat" on the label is pinball artist Greg Freres' rendering of our faithful distillery cat Gustav (or what he looks like in his head as he's catching mice and greeting visitors). We're pretty sure that he rules.
